Our mission. Our leaders. Our Church.
Our Mission: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. -Matthew 28:19-20
The Mission sits in the heart of Downtown Redlands and provides a distinctive opportunity to show the love of Jesus Christ to the unique culture in our midst. We invite you to connect with our church family through our worship experience which involves musical worship with an eclectic mix of instruments, vibrant Biblical teaching of practical life lessons, and opportunities to build relationships with our neighbors. Our passion is to see all people in our community connect to Christ and to each other as God’s family.
Through each season of life, we believe growing in faith is the key to the fulfilled life Jesus is calling us to share with Him. The Church is God’s body of believers in our world today. God calls His Church to connect to Jesus and grow in obedience to His command to love God and love others. We offer multiple venues to foster spiritual growth for people of all ages and stages of faith. We are on a Mission to build a deeper and stronger community of Christ followers.
The Mission is not only a place of refuge but also an invitation to action. As Christ followers we empower each other to bring the light of Jesus’ love to our neighborhoods, our country and our world. Whether responding to The Mission within the walls of the church, within our local community, or reaching the ends of the earth, we desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus to share God’s hope with a hurting world.
We want to see you grow in Faith
We want to see you serve Jesus
Every Member has a Mission
I was born and raised in Southern California and have had the privilege to be married to the greatest woman in the world for 15 years now. Kim and I have been in ministry together for almost 20 years and have witnessed God move through His people in big ways that leave us stunned and in Awe of our loving God. I was a Youth Pastor for 10 years working with some of the greatest people and kids ever until the Lord moved us into the Greatest city in the world, Redlands. We are very excited to see what God is going to do here in Redlands and know that we are honored and humbled to be a part of this great church. We have 4 amazing kids, 3 girls and a boy. We love to camp, snowboard/ski, playing games and just hanging together in general.
Hey everyone, my name is Jason Day and I am the Creative Arts Pastor here at The Mission. I was born in Kentucky, raised in Ohio and lived in New York for 6 years. My wife Kim and I have two amazing sons named Dylan (born Oct. 2006) and Owen (born July 2009). We moved to Redlands in Sept of 2012. We are so excited to be a part of the The Mission church family and the Redlands community. We enjoy spending time with friends, watching movies, going to the beach and talking to telemarketers...nope.
We have been in the worship ministry for over 10 years now and God keeps calling, so we keep answering. Nothing excites me more than being in a group of people who are fired up about worshiping God. Here at The Mission we are people who are committed to going after the lost and meeting people right where they are with the love of Jesus. So come and join the movement that is going on here. God is on the move, are you?
Hey there, I’m Reanna Smith and I’m the Family Pastor here at The Mission! I was born and raised here in Southern California where I met my husband Joshua the-amazing-mechanic Smith. We have two dogs: Sarge the Shop Dog and Rocky Butt, along with one feisty feline named Lexi. We decided this June to join The Mission family and we are so glad we did! We enjoy going on hikes with our dogs, spending time with friends, binge watching Netflix shows, and eating delicious food. In my free time (haha) I enjoy reading, writing, photography, and making DIY products.
I have my bachelor’s degree in English- Creative Writing with a minor in Psychology. I am also a licensed minister in the C&MA. I have been involved in youth ministry for 10 years, as a student leader, youth leader, intern and assistant director. God has given me a heart for discipling and equipping young people to live out their calling. I am so excited about what God is doing at The Mission and I’m so glad he has called us to be a part of it!
I was born and raised in Southern California and Chris and I have been married almost 15 years. We have four kids: Emily who is thirteen, 12 year old twins Krista and madi and a ten year old son, Ethan. We love camping, the beach, hiking and just hanging out together. We have three dogs, two cats and a bunch of chickens so our house is always very "lively."
Chris and I have been doing ministry together since before we were married and we have loved seeing the amazing things God has done in people's lives. We feel humbled to walk alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ as we all continue to grow and learn together.
Hello! I was born and raised in a Christian home in Riverside. If the doors to our church were open, my family was likely there. I love bring part of the Mission and being the Awana director! It combines the love for the Body of Christ that was fostered in my youth with the deeper desire to connect with kids and their families for God’s purposes that has grown in my adult years. Plus, we just plain have fun at Awanas!
I’ve been married to my terrific husband Bob since 1984 and we have four sons: Ryan (‘91), Matthew (‘96), Andrew (‘99), and Nathan (‘03). We also have two large dogs, a cockatiel, and more reptiles than I care to count. Besides the blessing of being a wife and mom, I have my own reupholstery business. I enjoy walking, running, hiking, camping, gardening, reading, jigsaw puzzles, and a good thrift store on a 50% off day. I’d rather be outside than inside.
You may notice that our main parking lot has limited space. We have additional parking at Beaver Medical Group which is located across the street at the corner of Fern and Cajon.
Our children are a big priority at The Mission. We want your children to have a safe and meaningful experience with us. Kidz on a Mission is down the hallway to your right as you walk into our lobby. If it is your first time, you may want to arrive early to complete our registration forms to ensure your child’s safety. You can register your child at the Mission Trolley and we will see that they are placed in the age appropriate classroom. Directly after the service you can pick your child up from their classroom. All of our volunteers and staff have had a thorough background check so you can feel like your kids are in good hands. We look forward to helping them grow in their understanding of God and enjoy time with new friends.
At The Mission we value the roots of our musical worship and strive to provide an experience in which we seek the presence of God through a passionate modern worship style. While using an electric mix of instrumentation, we span a variety of musical genres from modern worship to acoustic folk to re-imagined hymns. Other vital elements in our corporate worship time include prayer and offering. If it's your first time at The Mission, we would love for you to fill out the information card in the bulletin and place it in the offering plate so we can get to know you.
The Mission is committed to preaching knowledge of the Bible and practical applications of the message of Jesus Christ to love our neighbors.
The first Sunday of every month we take Communion. This tradition is a time of remembrance for Christ followers. If you are not a follower of Jesus you can feel free to just observe.
At The Mission we value relationships. We would love to meet you and spend time with you outside the walls of our church building. Come by and say hello!
There are moments that we face in our life that can grab us and keep us from the freedom that God wants us to live. Moments of loneliness, pain, suffering, humiliation, temptation… All Moments in our past that we can become stuck in our present. Join us as we look into the book of Philippians so that we might be free and no longer Stuck in the moment. Don't miss this powerful sermon series.
Come one, come all to the AWANA Grand Prix races! This event is open to anyone and everyone who loves pinewood derby style racing. If you're not into racing there will also be lots of time to connect with other families and learn more about the AWANA program. When all the races have come to a close, we will finish off the day with a BBQ lunch. This is going to be an outstanding family event, so pack up the kids and come on down to the AWANA Grand Prix. Date: Feb. 7th Time: 10am
The people of The Mission don't just want to go to church together; we want to do life together. So every once in a while we set a side a Sunday to have lunch together after church. We call them "Brown Bag Sundays". On Feb. 15th, after church we are going to meet at Ford Park Playground for some food, fun and fellowship. The Ignite Youth Group will be selling hotdogs as a fundraiser to help send many of the teens to church winter camp.
Mission Membership is an opportunity for our church family to become your church family. Our membership class will introduce you to our church and our Mission to Connect with the community, Grow in faith, and Serve Jesus. We believe that all people are called by God to be connected to Him and each other. We also desire to grow in faith by walking together through the journey of life. Lastly, we want to serve the world around us by reaching out to: the least, the last, and the lost.
At The Mission, we don't just go to church together ... we do life together.
That's what the Grow Gathering is all about. This large gathering will happen at The Mission where
we will sit in table groups. This context will allow us to begin our journey into small groups.
At these meetings, we will connect to God's word on a personal level together.
If you have been part of a Grow Group or have thought about joining one in the past,
You do not want to miss this.
Ignite Youth Ministries exists to create an environment for student’s to encounter God. We do this in such a way that is relevant and ignites change in the lives of young people, so that they become God’s spark. We want this change to occur in all aspects of their life.
